I just wanted to report that the most recent item sometimes gets partially overlaid by the new message box, when configured to show most recent messages at the bottom. Basically, the last line of text is covered when the scrollbar isn't present... move the mouse over the Smores window, causing the scrollbars to appear, and the text gets bumped up and becomes fully visible.
I can provide a pair of screenshots which illustrate this behavior, if that would be helpful.1 vote
I have seen this happen as well but can’t seem to reproduce the issue… I think it might have to do with the type of content in the room such as images and long posts… If you can repro please send me a screenshot and describe what kind of content you have in the room. Thanks!
My team often posts animated gifs in the campfire chat. Can you please add support for these? The images currently show as static images.4 votes
Released an update today to support this!
When hovering the mouse cursor over a room title or icon, the entire button is highlighted. But when the mouse cursor moves off the title or icon but still in the button, the highlight disappears and clicking does nothing.3 votes
Was a simple fix and was actually only affecting two of the themes. It will be in the next release, whenever that may be :)
When the app is hidden and docked, there should still be a subtle visual hint about its location like the Windows taskbar leaves the top pixel visible along the edge where it is collapsed.1 vote
Thanks for reporting this, it was a bug in the UI…
I'd like to have a max height for images shown. Right now, when a 1200x1200 image is shown, it fills the window's width and looks weird inline with chat. It looks like in campfire's rooms, there's a max height of 227 or so with aspect ratio maintained.3 votes
The taskbar blinks all the time even when there are no new messages.
The taskbar won't stop blinking even when the option is disabled in settings.3 votes
Is this still an issue?
Under notifications, pop ups are all or nothing. It would be nice to allow custom notifications to create pop ups. That way pop ups will only appear for certain conditions.3 votes
Sounds like a good idea to me!
Currently the post box will only expand to show 3 lines of text, it would be nice to expand it further.1 vote
Currently Smores forces you to enter the first room it finds or the last room you were in.
Also there is a sweet bug that will cause you to aparently stop receiving messages if you are only active in 1 room and you get kicked from that room. You are properly not active in that room, but Smores makes it seem like you are still active even though you aren't because Smores doesn't know what to do with not being active in any rooms.1 vote
Keeps crashing randomly for me. The error only says "pure virtual function call" and then the app shuts down. It seems to happen when I'm actively using it, scrolling the history or posting new messages. Sometimes it will go for a while just fine, other times it will crash over and over. Frustrating, as otherwise it's a good app.
I'm running Windows 7, SP 1, 64 bit on a Dell Latitude E5420. If that helps at all.1 vote
If you are experiencing the same thing as a few others, the update I just published should fix your issue!
Glad to see you've started grouping multiple messages from the same person together. However, you've added a separator line between each one, and it's visually confusing. At first glance, the line seems to indicate a different user's message. It's only until you look closer that you realize the line separates messages from the same user.
Personally I don't see much use for the separator at all. But if anything, I think it makes more sense under the username, giving the username the look of a header for the new section of text.3 votes
I removed the divider when the messages are ordered from top to bottom. The divider is really only useful for messages ordered from bottom to top.
Running on Windows 7 64. ran up until yesterday. As of today, Smores startup displays the Smores logo, then crashes. Windows gives no further information.10 votes
I have confirmed that the latest update is working! Please re-install the app and you should be good to go! Thanks for reporting the issue and for your patience!
Most apps of this nature use the option to flash a few times then turn into a solid orange notification color. This makes it obvious that there is something new, but is easy to ignore if you can't focus all your attention on the app at the time.
Smores's notification keeps flashing until you give it attention, and is very distracting. I had to turn off the option entirely, but this leaves me with no built in way to see if there are any new posts at a glance.3 votes
I like it! I keep it turned off for the same reason :)
Thanks for the idea!
The little Info popup in the lower left side...it drives me crazy. If you pass your mouse over it, it pops up, and doesn't go away until you pass over it again. So if I'm moving my mouse across the screen, and pass over it to say, go to my browser then that little window sits open, covering a portion of my browser until I go back to smores and run my mouse over it again.
It would be nice if we could have the option for the info pop up to only show if you click on it.2 votes
Working on a laptop (with high resolution) it'd be nice to scale up the fonts for certain situations, maybe even change them.1 vote
This should be fixed now!
There doesn't seem to be any option to change the sound in the default notification. Options are always nice. :)2 votes
You can now choose from system sounds or specify the file path yourself! This is only added to the custom notifications, but should allow you to customize to your hearts content!
My downloads folder has a ton of setup.exe, setup (1).exe, etc. because so many apps use that filename. It's hard to find the file later.1 vote
Just for you =)
It also fixed another problem I had…
Currently, all images are displayed inline. When I switch to a room that has been active with people or bots posting images, it takes a bit for all of the images to load so I can view the conversation.
It'd be great if there was an option to turn inline images on or off.3 votes
